Just got a call from Jason. The team has crossed the Mexico border and is on their way to lunch in El Paso.
It sounds like the team's last day is an absolutely powerful "God Story". Jason hopes to get you a full update once he gets into the hotel this afternoon.
The team is now in their two-day debrief period.
I CAN'T OVEREMPHASIZE HOW IMPORTANT THIS TIME IS!!!
This is the time where the students will be reflecting and processing through the past 6 months... the people, struggles, accomplishments, failures, experiences, and stories that have made up this experience. They will be asking the questions, "What has God been teaching me through this experience?" and "What am I supposed to do with what I have learned?"
It is this period that can allow this to move from a "great trip" to a "life-altering experience".
Here's some things to be praying for.
- Clear memories.
- Focus.
- Open ears to hear God, and open eyes to see God.
- Pray against the desire to "turn it off" and slide back into old mentalities or attitude.
