Fascinating Insights on "How Media Shapes Faith, the Gospel and the Church"

I just finished listening to a fascinating and challenging podcast message from a guest speaker at Mars Hill Bible. The guys name is Shane Hipps.

In his 20's Shane worked in advertising and one of porschehis main accounts was Porsche. Then he went to seminary and became a Mennonite pastor. Weird career path huh? Then after seminary he took a year to right a book exploring the relationship between technology and media and faith and the gospel and spirituality.

As he introduced Shane to the people at Mars Hill, Rob Bell said "He has a unique perspective with both a theological/biblical understanding and then deeply immersed in the world of advertising and media culture."

One of his first big thoughts Shane shared was “Christianity is fundamentally a communication event. God revealing God’s self to the World. So any serious study of communication is actually a study of God.”

Here are a few ways to read up more on Shane Hipps..
