Tonight's Celebration Time

The Lord met with us in a very special way tonight! Over 20 students make authentic decisions for Christ tonight simply stating when asked to share with the entire group what the Lord had done in their hearts "I got it tonight. I became a follower of Jesus Christ."

The "got it" was realizing that a relationship with Jesus is an inside out thing not an outside in thing. We addressed 4 counterfeit versions of Christianity that students often mistake for the real thing: Religion, Good Works, Praying a Prayer and Parents Faith.

We also took time to look at the different between our definition of confession and God's definition of confession. Our definition is associated with guilt relief which leaves us in a cycle of confessing the same things over and over again. However, confession in the Bible is always associated with change. As Andy Stanley says, "Confession is just one step in a sequence steps we need to take; it's simply the beginning of a process that ultimately leads to a change in lifestyle or behavior."

Bottom line, tonight was awesome! We definitely experienced students genuinely "getting it" when it comes to what it really means to be a follower of Jesus. Praise the Lord!

Please pray that the Lord would continue to move and change students during our remaining time here at camp. Pray especially that students would connect together at a deeper level and that there would truly only be ONE Body in our Junior High ministry. This will be our focus tomorrow morning.

Please pray for the Lord's will to be done tomorrow morning. I've heard that there is a 90% chance of rain. This could really mess up our morning plans as we are to be outside doing team building activities all morning. I'd ask you to pray for no rain but if it is the Lord's will that it rains that we would have wisdom as a leadership team to know which alternate direction to take the morning.
