1st Celebration Recap

We had a really good opening Celebration Time last night at Junior High Camp. We've been blessed with a great band and worship leader (Jason Lee) to lead us in worship for the week and to use a baseball reference "they knocked it out of the park" last night. Students really engaged well in the worship time as their was a strong sense of the Holy Spirit's presence right from the start.

Our theme passage for the week is Ephesians 4:1-6. However, last night we took a look at the verses just prior to these in Ephesians 3:17-20 and challenged students to take God out of the "box" that we tend to put him in because God cannot be contained to our human limitations.

"And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think."

We actually did something a little different with the message last night. Dustin Eby, a senior at NorthWood high school and a student in our Senior High ministry, actually shared the message last night. Dustin had shared this same powerful message about the "God of the Impossible" during our IMPACT Mexico trip at one of the church services there. He did a great job!

At the close of the Celebration, many students took time to surrender their "impossible situations" to the Lord. I was really encouraged as students responded. It was a great introduction to where I believe the Lord wants to take us this year at Junior High Camp.

Today, we head to Cedar Point. Besides having a ton of fun together our goal for today is to build team unity as we practice this idea that we are ONE body, many parts. Pray for no rain! We will be returning to camp in time for supper and then we will have our 2nd Celebration time tonight around 8:45.
