What Happened to the Punch?

Don't worry, this isn't another rant about how bad the Chicago Cubs are although if you saw yesterday's game against the Braves you may assume so based on the title of this post. If you don't know what I'm talking about click here. This post though has to do with the type of punch that you drink rather than the kind you throw.

This time of year is filled with weekends of Graduation Open Houses. Among other things, this means lots of meatballs, cake, dips, cheeses, fruits and vegetable trays. But one thing seems to be noticeably missing over the past couple of years - punch. Call me a traditionalist but I miss the days when you were guaranteed to find sherbet punch at nearly every Graduation Open House.

Just when I began to lose hope of finding any punch this year, Jackie Miller came through with flying colors. Jackie is the mom of 2007 Concord Graduate Jeremy Miller. Among other Open Houses today, we made the trip to Elkhart to congratulate Jeremy on his accomplishment. I remember 2 years ago when Lynn and Jackie's oldest son, Josh, graduated from Concord High School that Jackie won my vote for the "best punch of the year award."

Thanks Jackie for making my day again in 2007 and bringing back the punch! You once again win my vote for the best punch of the year. Maybe the Cubs could learn a thing or two from you.
