Please Pray!

Sometimes God just doesn't make sense. To be completely honest with you, it seems like He's made less sense of late than in any other time I can remember in my life.

I'm reminded tonight that no matter what you've gone through or will go through, there is always someone somewhere who will go through something far worse than you.

Please join me in praying tonight for Peter and Sarah Damaska. They are an amazing couple and friends of NMC. Sarah grew up at NMC and was highly active in our youth ministry. Her parents are Tom and Dawn Moneyheffer. Peter was apart of NMC's first SOAR internship class in 1997. They live in Michigan where Peter is a pastor.

This past week they learned that their 6-month old daughter Annie has a very aggressive and inoperable brain tumor. Today they had to make the most impossible of decisions. Below is what Peter wrote on his Facebook page earlier this evening...

"Terrible words for daddy to write...through prayer & scripture reading and in consultation with our incredible doctors & nurses we have chosen the path of comfort for Annie. She will not be undergoing any surgical procedures. Rather, we'll be spending time together as a family and loving her until her final breath. Please continue praying for us; in particular our William and our Kate. We are at peace."

Please pray for this amazing family as they trust Lord and lean into him as they walk through the "valley of the shadow of death."

Thank you for this post. I had heard about this tragedy, but didn't recognize who it was until you clarified. I had Sarah in class when she was a junior. My heart is broken for them. I will pray.
